Lion Hotel Borovets

Great value for money, I recommend and will definitely visit again 😀

Pros: I really liked the food, breakfast was included in price, dinner costs 30 euros per person and that means variety of food and unlimited bear and wine :) Staff was kind, room was clean and there was transport to ski terrain on every 20 minutes.

Cons: Perhaps they should install video surveillance or lockers in ski wardrobe, there was a message saying they are not responsible if theft or missing items appear. Bus drive guests to ski terrain during the day, unfortunately that wasn't the case for night skiing (18:30 - 22:00) Also I think parking should be free instead of charging 8 euros per day.

Very nice and clean hotel, near nature

Pros: The hotel is very nice, welcoming staff, spa zone well made, very clean. We enjoyed the location however a bit far away it was good to connect with nature. Restaurant food was not exceptional, it was just okay, not exactly tasty, but for a hotel restaurant good food. We really liked the jacuzzi outside, in the winter it's a wonderful experience

Excellent value for money!

Pros: The room was clean but it was the only one without balcony on the 5th floor. The Spa center is awesome! The food was healthy and delicious! My room's access card card fell in one tiny spot next to the swimming pool and the staff was very helpful and friendly and immediately helped me out by programming a new one for us. Our door was not locking properly and from the reception they sent a mechanic who fixed it in 5 minutes.

Cons: The water in the swimming pool was pretty cold the first day, which was pitty since my 2 years old daughter loves swimming pools but could not enjoy it and could potentially get cold out of that water.

Pros: Really peaceful place, wonderful SPA, great location, nice restaurant and bar. Special thanks to Ivan on the reception for the kind attitude and he made his best to meet all our needs with my one year old daughter! Thank you so much! We will definetely come back... :)

Cons: A bit of refreshment of the rooms will be great. Also, add photos for the outdoor and indoor kids area, it will be helpful for parents to know that there are such facilities in the hotel :)

Pros: The location was great. The nature around is so nice. The restaurant served good food, and the bar offered good cocktails.

Cons: The room could have been cleaner. There was dust everywhere.

Favourite place in Borovets!

Pros: The property is great! Good food, clean accommodation, nice spa and high level service!

- Good hotel, but for a 4* and the amounts charged the service and vallue-for-money could be much better

Pros: - Property located in a quiet, green area - Still within walking distance (10-15 minutes) from Borovets central area - Shuttle to center very helpful - Nice facilities, ski depot, pool, sauna - Large parking area, though at exactly same daily rate as parking in Borovets center - should have some discount for hotel guests

Cons: - If there is one thing that destroys the overall good impression about the hotel is the complete lack of hospitality and profesionalism by the hotel staff at reception and at the uper floor of the bar - I had a very unpleasant situation with one of hotel’s receptionist (Krisi) that was completely not friendly and helpful when we tried to book table tennis and pool table - anything we asked was not possible (reservation of table tennis, refund of pool table fees, as the coins got stuck in the designated input slot), the fact that I paid by card and it would have been very hard for her to provide a refund on the card… - Very few of the hotel rooms have balcony and upgrades at the reception are not welcomed

Totally recommended!

Pros: This is the second time in a row that we visited Lion Hotel in Borovets. The main reason is skiing but the other reason is the hotel! In this accommodation you’ll find everything you need. The breakfast buffet is really good and well thought out with many options. The spa is amazing, I especially enjoyed the outdoor sauna and the jacuzzi but mostly on the day that we took off from skiing because in the afternoon it gets really crowded inside and out. There’s a van that gets you to the ski lifts everyday which is an almost 3 min drive. We didn’t get the evening buffet but we loved the food in the restaurant that has quite reasonably prices and very polite and lovely stuff. The room was spacious!

Cons: I don’t love the carpet in the rooms and all over the hotel, that’s the only reason I took one rating off of cleaning, because I feel that however much you clean it, it will never be clean clean and I know the cleaning ladies are doing an amazing job. So that’s more of a personal preference.

Great winter resort for a weekend getaway

Pros: Beautifully renovated common areas including the restaurant, lobby bar and a great selection of spa experiences - multiple saunas, steam baths, a salt room, a swimming pool, and both an outdoor hot tub and another sauna. Walking time to the cabin lift was app. 15mins with a dedicated shuttle provided by the hotel.

Cons: The hotel is currently updating it's rooms and by summer of 2025 will have replaced its current mattresses and pillows. These were the only slight discomfort during our stay. The rooms were otherwise clean, tidy and spacious.

Pros: it was our 2nd time at the hotel. everything was almost perfect so we would be happy to come back one time

Cons: The bathroom cleaning could have been more thorough with more cleaning products being used
